MORE INFO:
Plaster Bandages: The 20 sq ft
of plaster bandages is sufficient to cast the breasts and belly with an
adequate number of layers of plaster guaze. If you wish to include
shoulders, upper arms, and/or the upper 1/3 of thighs in the casting (or
are carrying twins, etc), definitely consider adding another 1-2 rolls
of plaster guaze to your order. (Available in our ebay store in the
Belly Cast & Art category).
What quality are you getting? The
plaster bandages shown both measure 4in x 5yds. However, one clearly
has much more plaster material, which makes all the difference. All Kits
sold by Casting Keepsakes supply the rolls shown on the left.
The plaster casting stone can
be used to smoothen out (and/or reinforce) the cast. It is a stronger
version of the plaster that is embedded in the bandages. By adding the
casting stone to the cast, you will no longer see the layered look
created by the bandages. However, if you like the bandage look and
still want the cast to be reinforced, you can add the plaster casting
stone to the inside of the cast instead.
Making a belly cast takes only about
30 minutes and there is no mixing of messy materials. All you need to
provide is a pair of scissors and a basin of water. The casting material
used in making a pregnancy belly cast is extra-fast setting premium
quality plaster of paris bandage material and it sets in as quick as 2-4
minutes. The whole process really is fail-proof and the end result is a
perfect 3D memento of an expecting mom's beautiful pregnant belly!
